Amélie has a strange feeling of absolute harmony. It’s a perfect moment. A soft light, a scent in the air, the quiet murmur of the city. A surge of love, an urge to help mankind overcomes her.
Favourite Movies: The Green Mile
↳ “They usually call death row ‘The Last Mile’, but we called ours ‘The Green Mile’, because the floor was the color of faded limes. We had the electric chair then. Old Sparky, we called it. I’ve lived a lot of years, Ellie, but 1935 takes the prize. That was the year I had the worst urinary infection of my life. That was also the year of John Coffey and the two dead girls.”

Well that’s the kind of language I grew up with in my household. Whether that’s a good or a bad thing is up to you. So whenever I watch movies that has a ton of cursing, I almost don’t even recognize it. I know the movie is known for having a ton of cursing (it uses the word fuck 237 times), but I definitely don’t think it takes away from the film. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
There’s that moment at the front of the film, where it kind of goes from the bar music and then cuts to the intro to “Hand Covers Bruise,” the title sequence. It does cast things in a different light. The bar scene seems familiar, and you’re thinking, maybe it’s that kind of movie. And then to me, when that music starts up, you think, oh, what type of movie is this going to be? - Atticus Ross
Thanks for all the suggestions! I wanted to watch La Haine, but I can’t find a link anywhere with english subtitles. :/
# I'm trying to watch as many foreign films this summer as I can
# I just have a hard time choosing which one
I’m in the mood to watch a foreign film but I can’t choose! Recommendation anyone?

Lol well I’ve never planned on watching it. I had the option to see it for free and I still didn’t go. I kind of see it as just a movie I never intend to see. I haven’t heard anything good about it either. So I kind of just see it as “why should I waste my time?”.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…
“If there’s specific resistance to women making movies, I just choose to ignore that as an obstacle for two reasons: I can’t change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies. It’s irrelevant who or what directed a movie, the important thing is that you either respond to it or you don’t. There should be more women directing; I think there’s just not the awareness that it’s really possible. It is.” - Kathryn Bigelow
